A big thank you to our members, volunteers, committee members, artists, sponsors and supporters of the Arts in West Auckland! The Trusts 37th Art Awards Exhibition held in October was a huge success. We had over 2,500 people visit the exhibition and an increased number of people come to The Studio to find out about Waitakere Arts. It was also great to see the calibre of new and established artists in the West.
For the first time we had a separate digital art section and an open book to gather opinions and thoughts around this new artform. The majority of attendees said yes to including Digital Art next year if it wasn’t AI generated. Here are a few comments.
It was so pleasing to hear about people being inspired to create, getting back into Art after a hiatus and generating ideas with fellow artists. We heard inspiring accounts of how engaging in the arts has improved our overall mental
health and physical wellbeing. It was such a powerful reminder of the unexpected ways in which Art and creativity can help people through challenging times.
We had an amazing night of awarding over $17,000, sponsored by The Trusts, in prizes to well deserving artists.

We look forward to our 60th Members Exhibition on 9th-26th May 2025 and hope to see you all there again for a magnificent event!!
